The Private Investment Construction (PIC) Framework, sponsored by Yeovil District Hospital Foundation Trust, which has been set up to deliver privately-funded projects for the NHS and private healthcare operators, was split into two lots: Lot 1 will provide national coverage across England and Wales and is for projects generally in excess of £10million, with Lot 2 set-up for construction projects below this value and covering the ‘South’ and ‘Central’ regions.

National contractors Interserve, Kier, VINCI Construction UK and Willmott Dixon will work across Lots 1 and 2, while Midlands-based Speller Metcalfe has been appointed for Lot 2, providing access to some of the most experienced contractors in healthcare.

The four-year Framework will be a key tool for the delivery of a range of new build and refurbishment projects across the acute, primary care, community care and elderly care sectors, from NHS to private facilities.

Leighton Chumbley, Chief Executive of Prime said: “This is a framework unlike any other in the sector and will bring vital sources of value for money private funding into the healthcare market. The calibre and experience of our contractor partners means we will be able to bring forward vital strategic projects for our NHS and private clients over the next four years.”
