Construction Starts on New PIC Project in Yeovil

A turf cutting ceremony was held in Yeovil on 14 March 2019 to mark the start of construction work on a new staff accommodation complex, being delivered through the PIC Framework.

The key worker accommodation scheme for Yeovil Hospital is being built on a brownfield site just 500m from the main campus and will provide high quality housing for NHS staff and medical students working at the hospital.

The completed accommodation complex will provide 176 bedrooms, in a mixture of one, two, four- and eight-bedroom apartments. The scheme also includes shared living spaces and landscaped gardens to enable staff and students to socialise and relax away from work.

The development will be delivered by Speller Metcalfe. The established regional firm was selected as the main contractor for the scheme following a call-off from the PIC Framework, which was created following a competitive OJEU procurement process.
